This week was mostly the same I did prep work for the fourth grade and I actually got to help them make their Mother's Day present which was so cute!!! They made like a 3d purse with handles and wrote their moms a poem and wrapped it up with string when they were done with it and put that in the purse plus they got to pick out 3 chocolates each for their mom. On the actual purse they decorated it so nicely with hearts and flowers that I cut out for them. The finished product was so cute and nice! I wish I could see the look on their moms faces

This week was my evaluation which was exciting! I always love when you come and see my surroundings and who I'm around everyday I feel like it makes you apart of it even though you already are. I've been doing so much prep for the fourth grade teacher that it's really making me realize just how much time it takes and how much you really have to put into it all. I planted the seeds with the kindergartners for Mother's Day that I cut out all the bottles for. They got to pick which flower they wanted also their was 3 options they were so excited! Next week is the zoo which I'm getting very excited for! I can't wait
To start, last week was pretty much a lot of prep for me. All the teachers love me because I get stuff done!!! On Monday I did a bunch of paper prep for the fourth grade teacher and that's just making copy's making packets and then numbers them all. I actually enjoy it though because I learn more and more about the copy machine every time. I had no idea there were staples in there and you could literally make packets. On tuesday the kindergarten teacher wasn't there because of personal reasons so I was with the fourth grade 3 days in a row. On Wednesday evening I did a project prepping what the kindergarten teacher asked me to do. I had to rinse, cut, and whole punch 25 2 liter bottles. It was a lot more difficult then it sounds. I imagined it'd take about half an hour.. It took me about 2 hours total. Mother day is getting closer and I'm very excited for them to make the hanging flower baskets for their moms.
This week was very short for me, on Wednesday we didn't have school, and on Tuesday I was very sick and couldn't attend. On Monday, I did a bunch of prep work for the fourth grade teacher and made copy's for her, the usual! Then Thursday I did flash cards with the kindergarten kids and I was so shocked and surprised to know that they knew them so well considering they are going to be 1st graders soon! I'm so proud of them! On Friday Mrs.did an adorable project for their moms for Mother's Day, she used plaster and sand and made their hand imprints with marbles. It was adorable!!! She also gave me a long at home project to start for the kiddies to make hanging flower baskets!!! I'm so excited.
This week all the kids were very hyper and excited because spring break was coming up which meant they get to stay home for a whole week! I'm very interested to see how they are when they come back and if this impacts their routine or not because most of the time breaks do. On Thursday to celebrate the end of March which is reading month, all of the kindergarteners got together in one class and played and read and watched a dr.suess movie. Mrs. Made this adorable little snack cup for them with gold fish. She put a red, & blue fish for one fish 2 fish red fish blue fish, which is a popular dr. Suess book, I did a lot of prep on Thursday for her but it was very interesting because i got to see even more in detail All the things teachers need to do. Also, I got their Friday folders ready and graded some papers. I'm very nervous that the end of the year is approaching very quickly for me because I won't get to see them anymore and I've grown to have such good bonds with them, so I'm really sad. Mrs. Said I can come anytime and see them, I'm going to attend their last day of school and probably cry like a little baby, just because I'm so proud they're moving on and so happy, but so sad to see them go and not be able to spend time with them anymore. They bring me so much joy, I'm gonna miss all their little faces!!!!
This week was very fun!! On Wednesday mrs. Gave me a project to do at home! She gave me a big egg to trace 25 of and then cut out! So I did it and brought them back on Thursday for the kiddies to do the cutest little project ever! But first we took them down to the fourth grade to show them a little animal exhibit all the fourth graders made. Some got so confused and asked "what we are going to the zoo?" It was so adorable. When we got there they completely loved it and we're so excited. After that, we went back to the classroom and mrs passed out every an egg, the project was to put glue on their big Easter egg and take a paint brush and brush the glue all around. Then after that, mrs had bought tissue paper and ripped it up for them to pick which colors they wanted to put on their egg! They all turned out so beautiful and almost looked like stained glass. I even helped a little boy who was having a hard time finish his, he was so happy and it warmed my heart. After, I helped her clean up and we just talked for a little. I'm very excited to return Tuesday and see how everyone's Easter went and hear them talk about the bunny. This week was so much fun with them!!
My goal for the past two trimesters was to create good relationships with the children and just enjoy my experience overall. I have completed this goal within the last two trimesters especially with the kindergarten children, not so much with the fourth graders so im working on it! this trimester I have the class for fourth and fifth hour now, which gives me plenty more time to complete it with the fourth graders, which im really hoping for. This week was parent teacher conferences, so i got to attend all the kindergartners conferences, It was so much fun and i really enjoyed it. Mrs. set up stations for them to take their parents too and show what they completed in class and show them what they have been doing. Her phrase she kept telling them was as if they were the teacher for their parents. I was so happy to see all thee proud parents when they heard just how good their children were doing, it made me so happy. Also, during the week i took home some papers that i had to fil their names out on and their parent's received them during conferences. They were reading certificates for the kids because march is reading month! Im really nervous that that this is the last trimester ill be with them, simply because i adore each and every one and they have really grown on me, so i know the last day I will be crying like a little baby, until then i am just going to enjoy each and every moment possible with the class and teacher.
This week was similar to all, on Monday i did a bunch of copies for the fourth grade teacher and numbered them all, just prep work. It really shows me how much is truly into having a classroom of your own. I also, really enjoy her company!! On Tuesday I helped the kindergarten teacher and kids with their spelling. They were really trying to write super sentences!!! (hence the theme being superheros) In order to do this, they need a capital letter in the beginning of every sentence, finger spaces between every word, and a punctuation at the end of the sentence. One little boy wrote "I love miss autumn" it melted my heart!!! The one Disney rule that most stands out to me is the height requirement! I think this is so unfair and should honestly be illegal. To me it almost feels as if discrimination. Just because you're taller than 5'8, or shorter than 5'4 you cant be a Disney princess? thats absurd. Every girl is a princess and deserves to not feel less than another because of their height, Disney should be sued for this. The world wonders why females have such insecurity issues and then big known services as being a Disney princess does this, and its a prime example of why some do. Its pretty much telling someone they're not good enough. I am 5'5 so this doesn't account to me, which means i strongly believe this for others.
This week was very short but still very interesting, on Thursday I was at the kindergarten class and while mrs was introducing the centers for the day I was very surprised and pleased that she was teaching a brand new way of how to solve addition problems. I was so impressed that the kiddies totally understood for the most part and we're adding as if it was nothing!!! It was so cute and is shocking to see how far they truly have come since the beginning of the year! Each and every one of them have grown so much and adapted to school and rules. They were all so excited to see if they got the problems correct or not and if they did they were pleased with themselves as well. On Friday I was in the fourth grade classroom and I was assigned to copy 26 pages of hw out of the teaching book and then copy packets of review for the section. Trying to figure out the copy machine and how to do it correctly was a little overwhelming but I figured it out with help of others. After all the copying I went back to the classroom and numbered each 26 papers of the 10 lessons I was assigned to print out and then number the packets. When it was time to leave the teacher couldn't believe I got it all done! She expected me to have to come back the next day and finish but I got it all done! While I was there Friday there was a code red practice drill and since I've been there nothing has changed the fourth graders have all the right safety procedures down! I was very interested as to how the kindergartens did, being new to it and all. I guess I will find out Monday!!
This was a very big week for the kids, it was the 100th day of school this week! for the fourth graders its not too exciting but for the kindergartners they adore it! We made them all hats out of construction -paper and had them color 10 rows of 10 blocks on each for 100 days, and printed out a sign that says "100 days smarter" it was so cute how something to me thats very little was so exciting to them. Their jump rope for heart assembly was on Friday also, and they all passed out valentines for valentines day on Sunday. I was in the fourth grade room, and got some candy and valentines from them. It was so cute and sweet!!! That day i mostly prepped for the teacher. Thursday, which was the 100th day of school Mrs. asked the students parents to bring in 100 things of something like pennies, cotton swabs, or such. Many parents choose food, so when it was time that Mrs wanted them to lay out 10 groups of 10 they couldn't help themselves but to eat some of their 100th items and it was so funny when they were realizing they didn't have enough because they ate them. Its clearly not funny they couldn't follow directions, but i just thought it was so funny. One kid even ate another persons snack and goes "im sorry i couldn't help it" it was just too hilarious and adorable.
