To start, my week has been very interesting to ay the least. I recieved an email asking if i could be at the kindergarten class all week because the teacher was going to be out. I said yes and was extactic!! Although, on monday i helped with the fourth graders and preparing a little booklet project. I agreed to be there on friday in the morning to help the guest teacher. When i got there all the kids looked so sleepy and calm! i couldnt even believe it. They were so active and interested in the lesson being taught, which i was very impressed by. We read a book together and they were practicing the "ap" family, which is what the book focused on, so when we were done they had to go through the book and underline all the "ap" words. The guest teacher decided to do centers in the morning, which one was an addition game where they roll the dice and whichever two numbers they got, they had to add up. They all did awesome and i was super impressed by that!! I ended up leaving around lunch time because the guest teacher said she was all set for the afternoon since we got centers done. I was there for around 4 hours! longer than ive ever been! Jason was an autistic boy who loved basketball and was on the basketball team, yet didnt play. On february 17th, they coach put him in the game expecting not so much from him, but just wanted to do the nice gesture, when jason pulled out a whopping 20 points!!!! everyone was so happy and couldnt believe it, he also touched a family at home who had an autistic 2 year old son, and they were both basketball coaches and loved the game, they said it gave them hope that some day their son could play, just as jason did. I yet, have never had a dream come true, but i feel its on the way! :)

Great job with putting in your four hours at work. SAVE that email asking you to help out. This is a wonderful example of the trust and care you have built with everyone there. I enjoy hearing about your lessons. The book, the dice game. :) So..is teaching still your thing?
